MEDIVIRON was established in 1984 by Dr. Lim Heng Huat as the first company in Malaysia to provide comprehensive occupational health and safety consultancy services. As the nation’s pioneer company in this field, MEDIVIRON was recognized by the Malaysian Government with approval to conduct occupational hygiene monitoring for airborne lead and conduct medical surveillance under the Factories and Machinery (Lead) Regulations 1984. Within a year the company gained rapid recognition in the industrial sector, and provided services to factories and workshops in all eleven states in Peninsular Malaysia.

In 1985, the first KLINIK MEDIVIRON was set up in SEA Park, Petaling Jaya in response to demand for further clinical services. Apart from providing basic primary healthcare, the clinic also conducted medical surveillance and screening programmes, as well as mobile audiometry and spirometry for on-site clientele.

Simultaneously, the MEDIVIRON group also assisted the government and statutory organizations such as SOCSO to conduct a series of public seminars and conferences. The objectives were to create public awareness and enhance industrial cooperation on occupational health and safety issues including safety and health management, noise control, radiation safety, building and construction safety, and indoor air quality. Dr. Lim also represented the Malaysian Employers Federation at the International Labour Conventions on Asbestos and Man-made Mineral Fibres in Geneva under the auspices of ILO and WHO. In 1991, MEDIVIRON was also appointed the organizing secretariat for the Asbestos International Association Conference on Safety in the use of Asbestos held in Kuala Lumpur.

Since then, the MEDIVIRON group has expanded rapidly and currently provides services to more than 5000 corporate and industrial clients through our network of 110 clinic branches.

It is our primary policy to achieve and maintain excellence and affordability in providing comprehensive healthcare services to the general Malaysian public, as well as our corporate clients in the commercial and industrial sectors. This policy is implemented through our extensive and expanding network of 110 clinics, currently among the largest chains in the country, and complemented by other healthcare facilities such as mobile audiometry and spirometry, and occupational hygiene monitoring. Many of our clinics are open 24-hours and fully equipped with XRay, Ultrasound and ECG facilities. Our manpower strategy is also critical for achieving our corporate objectives: a multiracial staff force, spearheaded by a team of dedicated and motivated doctors who are given the opportunity for partnerships of the clinics in the MEDIVIRON group, and continuing staff training to update and upgrade their level of proficiency.
