KUALA LUMPUR: Hai-O Enterprise Bhd will work closely
with its strategic partners to widen its horizon in the healthcare industry, said managing director Tan Kai Hee.
He said the effort was in line with the group’s intention to concentrate on its core business by tapping into its own resources and skills.
“We believe there are still alot of potentials to be unleashed within the healthcare industry,” he said after the company’s annual general meeting here today.
Tan said the multi-level marketing industry was positive on future growth.
“For Hai-O, we introduce new products regularly, the latest being the Bamboo Salt, an energy product from South Korea,” he said.
He said Hai-O was aggressively recruiting members, setting a target of 2,500 new members every month, to complement the existing 160,000.
Hai-O, established in 1975, is an established household name offering a wide range of complementary medicines, medicated tonic, wellness, beauty and healthcare products and clinical services.
The principal business of the group involves wholesale and retail, multi-level marketing, pharmaceutical manufacturing and Chinese medicinal clinics.
For the financial year ended April 30, 2012, Hai-O’s pre-tax profit stood at RM48.60 million on the back of RM239.4 million in revenue. — BERNAMA
