Share prices on Bursa Malaysia extended their gains at mid-afternoon today, helped by the support on selective
plantation and properties blue-chips, dealers said.
At 3.15 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 4.3 points higher at 1,669.2 after opening 1.43 points lower at 1,663.47.
The Finance Index rose 26.91 points to 14,868.68, Plantation Index gained 16.17 points to 8,179.71 and the Industrial Index added 4.73 points to 2,899.3.
The FBM Emas Index advanced 24.44 points to 11,324.98, FBMT100 rose 26.539 points to 11,167.27 and the FBM Mid 70 Index gained 18.28 points to 12,174.05.
The FBM Ace Index was however 2.72 points lower at 4,238.73.
On the broader market, gainers led losers 293 to 285, with 338 counters unchanged and 727 untraded. Volume stood at 686.38 million shares worth RM831.9 million.
Of the actives, Tiger Synergy and Naim Indah were flat at 22 sen and 21.5 sen respectively.
UEM Land rose 19 sen to RM2.12 after the company announced the development of a RM3 billion technology park in Johor with a joint-venture partner.
In heavyweights, Maybank lost two sen to RM9.03 and Sime Darby fell one sen to RM9.79. Axiata rose one sen to RM6.66. — Bernama
