MADO has been making ice cream for over 150 years and over five generations, and the frozen treats are a welcome addition to KL’s saturated gelato market. The brand’s recently opened flagship store in Bukit Bintang serves Turkish ice cream that range from the passé (chocolate and strawberry) to the unusual (date and sour cherry), but the unique and prevalent chewy texture and fruitiness remains, especially with the pomegranate flavour. Turkish coffee, specialty cakes and baklava are also available, but we won’t have any qualms choosing the refreshing ice cream every single time.
