KUALA LUMPUR: Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM) announced the appointment of Datuk Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah, who is secretary-general of Treasury, to its board of directors.
In a statement today, PIDM chairman Tan Sri Dr Abdul Samad Alias said: “We look forward to his contribution to our Board and I am confident that PIDM will benefit greatly from his extensive public sector experience.
Mohd Irwan replaced the former secretary-general of Treasury, Tan Sri Dr Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah, who retired recently after 37 years in the civil service.
Mohd Irwan, who holds a PhD in Economics, served in the government for more than 30 years in a various capacities and served as a board member in notable organisations including Employees Provident Fund, Securities Commission, Land Public Transport Commission, Malaysian Cooperative Commission and
International Islamic University of Malaysia.
