Many ramen shops attempt to diversify their version of the Japanese noodle. At Hokkaido Ramen Santouka, you’ll find only a few variations: shio (salt-flavoured), shoyu (soy sauce-flavoured), miso and kara miso (spicy miso). But what makes Santouka stand out amidst this ramen mania is its signature dish: Tokusen Toroniku Ramen (pork cheek ramen). And be warned that only limited bowls are served daily. There are, after all, only so many pork cheeks you can procure. The 68-seater restaurant is designed by a Japanese design house thus it’s not surprising to find big pendant lights, traditional prints and paintings on the wall. Being a non-halal restaurant, Santouka guarantees one thing: only the best quality pork is used in your meal.
